On the Ipad

Since the iPad has been released, I was wondering how my portfolio would look like on the new Apple device. It was a huge disappointment when I realized the Home page didn’t display any of my pictures because of the flash gallery I was using.
Apple and Adobe are fightingover the flash technology since a while now, and we now know for sure there’s no chance at all we can use flash on the iPad. I couldn’t let my website being out of the “Apple” universe. The device is great and I’m pretty sure a lot of photo editors will use it at home or at the office to consult pro portfolios. I also strongly believe in open standard such as HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript which are going to be widely implemented in our websites in the coming years. So I’ve made different technical improvements to be available on the iPad and to have a cross browser compatibility.
A couple of month ago, I’ve developed a series of WordPress templates for photographers, so I decided to redesign my website around a customized version of the Senseetiv Ying Template which has a JavaScript slideshow on the Home page and a CSS3 style sheet. I also followed the Safari Technical notes to be sure everything was working properly and tested the result on the AdobeLab. The result is great!
If you wanna have that kind of portfolio, please visit www.o2creation.org, or email me at info@o2creation.org for a customized template.
UPDATE: when I read this http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2010/05/apple-ipad-reaches-one-million-sold-twice-as-fast-as-iphone/I guess it was the right move…
