Barnstorm Images & Multimedia – Eddie Adams Workshop

From October 8-11, 2010, a hundred students and dozens of faculty and volunteers attended the 23rd Eddie Adams Workshop, in Jeffersonville, NY. The Eddie Adams Workshop is an intense four-day gathering of the top photography professionals, along with 100 carefully selected students. The photography workshop is tuition-free, and the 100 students are chosen based on the merit of their portfolios.
Each student attending the workshop is given an assignment in the local community the cover over two days of shooting. Working with a team leader and editor, a selection of 10 images is created and integrated into a team slideshow that is presented on the last night of the Workshop.
A few students are selected to not only shoot still images, but record audio and video as well. Each photographer works intensively with their team leader and the multimedia team led by Brian Storm , Tom Kennedy and Rich Beckman to produce a multimedia piece within two days. Une Nouvelle Approche… les Emmy Awards du multimedia

Hourra hourra, les nominations pour les 29eme Emmy Awards ont été annoncées! L’année dernière une catégorie « Broadband » avait été spécialement créée pour récompenser les productions destinée au web. Cette annee pour la 29 eme édition, on change de nom, « New Approaches. », mais on garde un principe identique. Des TV aux newspaper en passant par quelques ONG, le paysage multimédia se transforme, gagne en maturité et en force.
A mes yeux l’avenir se trouve dans ces nouveaux contenus, très souvent de grande qualité, malheureusement largement ignorés en France. Si la presse recherche un nouveau souffle, si le photojournalisme recherche un peu d’air, c’est par cette voie que ces deux acteurs trouveront les publics qui sont nécessaire à leur survie.
Aujourd’hui je vous propose de découvrir le premier nominé, un document realise pour le Council on Foreign Relations.

A visiter, en profondeur, le site de MediaStorm, qui vient de sortir deux histoires trés superbement réalisées.
Ce site fondé par Brian Storm (un ancien de Corbis et d’ailleurs)
propose non seulement une mise en valeur de reportages d’une trés haute
qualité, mais pas seulement, puisqu’à travers sa présentation crossover
mélangeant vidéo et photo dans un formatage web, il diffuse ces
histoires sur Internet via les portails de clients prestigieux tels que
le washingtonpost.com ou Time.com.
